【External Announcements】Guidelines for the 2026 “Learning in the Cinema” Program National Film and Audiovisual Culture Center
1. To promote accessibility and equity in Taiwan’s film and audiovisual cultural heritage, the National Film and Audiovisual Culture Center has launched the “Learning in the Cinema” outreach program. Through in-depth film-viewing experiences, the program introduces archived audiovisual works to audiences of different ages, identities, and communities. Professional filmmakers and industry experts will also participate in pre-screening or post-screening talks to enhance public understanding of the social and historical contexts reflected in archival images, as well as Taiwan’s local culture. The program aims to foster the sharing of collective social memories and encourage reflection on contemporary social issues.
2. Group registration for this program is open from now until January 31, 2027. Details regarding eligibility for free applications, registration procedures, and program options can be found in the attached guidelines.
3. Film serves as a valuable medium for exploring diverse issues and can be integrated into teaching across different educational fields, such as Chinese language arts, social studies, arts education, local languages, Indigenous education, human rights education, life education, social-emotional learning, and gender equality education. Therefore, this program carries strong educational significance. In addition to providing learners with diverse learning approaches, it may also inspire creative teaching practices for educators. We kindly request your assistance in announcing this program and forwarding the information to schools at all levels, social welfare institutions, and related organizations under your jurisdiction (such as community universities, subject resource centers, and local advisory groups for compulsory education).
