【External Announcements】Call for Papers: “2026 National Science Popularization Forum” by the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium

  • The Museum is organizing the 2026 National Science Popularization Forum, scheduled to be held from September 15 to 17, 2026. Science popularization and science education institutions, scholars and experts, as well as relevant industry partners from across the nation are invited to participate in in-depth exchanges on topics including science education, science popularization, venue management, and environmental sustainability.
  • This year's forum is themed “Fifteen Years of Science Popularization: Advancing Sustainable Action through Science.” It looks back on the achievements accumulated over the past fifteen years of science popularization practices while focusing on future challenges of transformation. The forum regards science popularization as an important interface connecting science and society. From museum exhibitions and educational settings to interdisciplinary collaboration and civic participation, the forum explores how science can foster understanding, inspire critical thinking, and guide concrete action in different contexts.
  • The call for papers for this forum includes the following topics: “A Fifteen-Year Retrospective on Science Popularization: The Evolution from Knowledge Translation to Social Action,” “Informal Science Learning,” “Practicing the SDGs through Science Popularization,” “Interdisciplinary Connections and Science Communication: Building Platforms for Social Dialogue,” and “Practices in Science Education for Diverse Groups and Inclusion” including, but not limited to, the above areas.
  • The submission period is from May 8 to July 17, 2026, and the announcement of accepted submissions is scheduled for August 31, 2026. Contributors are requested to complete the online registration form and submit their paper abstracts via the forum website.
